An in-depth study of creature design, from anatomy and evolution, to design informed by fantasy narrative. This course was incredibly great at building up my confidence when it came to fauna design for video games and films. When learning from nature and observation we can better design both realistic and stylized creature designs.

Working with J Hill was great because it gave me a lot of insight as a beginner into the 3D ZBrush workflow and it allowed me to get to grips with the software so that I can concept my own characters.

Intro to Shapecarving
As a new artist, I was really interesting in the ‘shapecarving’ technique and style of art and taking Scott’s class really allowed me to learn to think as a designer and focus on the important shape language that is used to create the most iconic characters we know and love.
